Measures for Detecting Careless and Insufficient Effort Responders
The Comprehensive Infrequency/Frequency Item Repository (CIFR; Kay & Saucier, 2023) is a searchable and freely-accessible online database of 660 infrequency/frequency items for detecting careless and insufficient effort survey responders.
The Inattentive and Careless Responding Inventory for Statements (ICRIS; Kay, 2023) includes 14 infrequency/frequency statements for assessing careless and insufficient effort responding.
The Inattentive and Careless Responding Inventory for Adjectives (ICRIA; Kay, 2023) includes 6 infrequency/frequency adjectives for assessing careless and insufficient effort responding.
The Semantic Antonyms Set (SAS; Kay, 2023) includes 7 pairs of semantically antonymous items (e.g., “I go through money quickly” and “I am good at saving money”) for detecting careless and insufficient effort responders.
The Instructed Response Item Set (IRIS; Kay & Saucier, 2023) includes 10 instructed response items (e.g., “Select the middle response option for this item”). However, unlike other instructed response item sets, all of the letters in the IRIS items have been replaced with homoglyphs. By using homoglyphs instead of Latin characters, the items in the IRIS are effectively unsearchable by participants (e.g., a participant can’t simply open the Find tool in Firefox and type “agree” to find all items on the page that include the word “agree”).
Measures of Conspiracist Ideation
The Generic Conspiracist Beliefs Scale - 5 (GCB-5; Kay & Slovic, 2022) includes five items assessing a person’s tendency to believe in conspiracy theories (i.e., conspiracist ideation). It is based on the 15-item Generic Conspiracist Beliefs Scale - 15 (Brotherton et al., 2013).
The COVID-19 Conspiracist Ideation Scale (CCIS; Kay, 2021) includes five items assessing a person’s tendency to believe in generic COVID-19 conspiracy theories (i.e., conspiracist ideation).
Measures of Intimate Partner Violence
The Gaslighting Questionnaire (GQ; March et al., 2023) includes ten items assessing a person’s belief that gaslighting is acceptable.
